Hypoxia: The HIF2α puzzle
Standfirst
Two studies describe different roles for HIF2α in cancer. It can promote tumorigenesis by mediating the infiltration of tumour-associated macrophages or suppress tumour development by increasing transcription of the tumour suppressor SCGB3A1.
Nature Reviews Cancer 10, 603 (2010)doi:10.1038/nrc2921

Development: BTBD7 branches out
Standfirst
Fibronectin activates BTBD7 to drive epithelial branching from clefts.
Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology 11, 605 (2010)doi:10.1038/nrm2963

Neuron–glia interactions: A tunnel signal
Standfirst
New neurons control, through Slit-Robo signalling, the organization of the glial tubes through which they migrate in the RMS.
Nature Reviews Neuroscience 11, 610 - 611 (2010)doi:10.1038/nrn2901

Viral pathogenesis: Baculoviruses 'ride' actin
Standfirst
Baculoviruses migrate intracellularly using actin-based motility.
Nature Reviews Microbiology 8, 612 - 613 (2010)doi:10.1038/nrmicro2428
